As the name of the portfolio implies, these are images taken from shorelines -- mostly of my favorite lakes in California. Mono Lake is something one might expect to find on Mars. At dawn, the early sun illuminates the tufas, creating a unique spectacle. The racetrack in Death Valley is usually a dry lakebed, but in the fall of 2004, it turned into a real lake. Lake Lundy is near Mono Lake. And Oso Flaco Lake is a treasure - isolated and pristine.
